How To Fix Cocoalicious

If you, like myself and many other people, have been having trouble getting Cocoalicious to connect to the master list at Del.icio.us since the API was recently changed, here’s the way to fix it.

(I’m using the latest version of Cocoalicious (1.0b43) on OS X 10.4, if you are using a different combination then your mileage may vary with this fix, I have no idea as I have only tried it on my setup).

So, first, start up Cocoalicious, then open preferences and change the API to ‘https://api.del.icio.us/v1’ (without using the quotes). Click ‘save’.

Close the Cocoalicious application (as it still won’t work even having done that).

Here’s the trick bit…

Now open Keychain Access and find the entry for ‘del.icio.us api’. Double click on it and manually change the address (Cocoalicious doesn’t change it itself, for some reason) also to ‘https://api.del.icio.us/v1’ (also without the quotes) and click on ‘save’.

Close Keychain Access.

Fire up Cocoalicious again. You’ll be prompted to enter your password, do that and hit ‘save’.

Wait a few seconds as it connects.

Voila. You should (hopefully) now be re-cocoalicious’ed!

Much good karma and free drinks to Bjoern for figuring this out.
