Britain, Who?
The UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband, in the Ukraine today, says;
“We fully support Georgia’s independence and territorial integrity, which cannot be changed by decree from Moscow.”
Someone should perhaps point out to him not only that it can be changed by decree from moscow, but that it already has been.
It can only be assumed that the above ‘cannot be changed by Moscow’ statement from Britain, a tiny island that is politically, economically and militarily insignificant to Russia, was made with only the British domestic audience in mind.
Whilst we are on the subject of tiny countries and their politicians attempting to punch well above their weight, it might also be a good idea for them to be reminded of who it is that has control over European gas supplies, and who it is that owns the soil that lays beneath NATO’s most effective military supply lines into Afghanistan.
Yes, it’s Russia.
