Flickr And…More Flickr…

Monday, March 8th, 2010

I’m getting to have a large collection of photo odds and ends laying around that don’t seem to fit anywhere, so I have rebooted my Flickr account.

I have also added a new page here to the site that displays the latest ten of my Flickr uploads.

Go Flickr.

The Blair Mystery, Can You Help Solve It?

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

The UK Guardian’s politics section is running a competition for financial experts in an attempt to unravel Tony Blair’s highly complicated financial arrangements.

Blair cash

Here’s the deal:

We’re offering a prize of an original Steve Bell cartoon for the best explanation of Tony Blair’s opaque financial structures received by 16 December. We’re making the key documents available here. Send us your remarks or annotations; we’ll publish interesting observations, and credit you if you’d like us to. If you’d like to get in touch directly then email david.leigh@guardian.co.uk

The full introduction and background to all of this is here; ‘The Mystery Of Tony Blair’s Finances’ and links to all of the relevant documents you might need are on the sidebar on that page.

Can you shed any light on the mystery? If you can, enquiring minds would love to hear from you.

Books: Critical Thinking And Straw Dogs

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

I ordered a couple of books from Amazon yesterday, both of which sound quite interesting.

The first is Asking the Right Questions: A Guide to Critical Thinking, and the second is Straw Dogs: Thoughts on Humans and Other Animals.

The first book I just happened to notice whilst wandering around Amazon. The reviews looked good and the subject is always interesting, so I bought it. The second book was recommended to me by tinydoctor on identica.

Hopefully the books will arrive in a week or so.

Incidentally, tinydoctor, aka Dr. Yoshev Omed, has a good blog; ‘Dr Omed’s Tent Show Revival‘. Worth a read.

Happy Anni Micro, And Thanks To Tumblr.Com

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

Everything here at RogiLife.Com runs on my own server, as do a bunch of other sites of mine, except for just one: micro.rogilife.com.

‘Micro’, one year old today, which is what prompts this post, is hosted and essentially made possible by the excellent people over at tumblr.com.

I could attempt to write a book about the multitude of things that anyone could use tumblr.com for, but the book would never finished being written – the possibilities are absolutely endless.

If you have never heard of, or have never properly tried, the tumblr.com service then you’re missing out, really.

Great service, great reliability, and great people. Oh, and unbelievably, it’s all free.

So a happy 1st to ‘micro’, and thanks a bunch to all the staff at tumblr.com.
