The Atheist billboard campaign is off to a good start in the UK, with billboards now up in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast.
Further details about this campaign, with daily updates, are available on the official website. There is also coverage on the BBC News website and a full article, with a large – and fast increasing – number of comments and opinions, on the Guardian UK’s Comment is Free section.

Peixe em Lisboa 2009
For some reason I have had a craving for eating fish recently. This would be easy enough to fix if I knew all about fish and the eating of said things, but I don’t.
My problem is that in general I don’t know which fish are considered good, which are average and which are not worth trying. Trickier still is that even when fish names and descriptions are written in English I still don’t know what is what, and when they are written in Portuguese, well, then I really don’t have a clue.
Anyway, I just noticed that this event is going to take place in a couple of weeks;
Here is what they say it will offer;
For nine days, Lisbon fish & flavours will allow all visitors the appreciation of innovative cuisine creations based on fish and seafood in a relaxed environment that invites you to share it between family and friends.
When you enter into Lisbon fish & flavours you may also participate in major cuisine presentations; experience the best restaurants in the region and the work of great chefs; enjoy entertainment and live music; read a book or taste a good wine
Sounds interesting, and I can quite happily see myself sitting in Lisbon in the sunshine munching some well cooked fish.
Times and dates are as follows:
PEIXE EM LISBOA (Lisbon fish & flavours)
2009 Edition | 18 – 26 April
Pavilhão de Portugal – Parque das Nações
Everyday from 12:00am ‘till 12:00pm
Sunday April 26th from 12:00am ‘till 7:00pm
If I can, I’ll see you there.
There can now be no doubt as to which team is going to win this weekend’s first ever Formula One night race, in Singapore.
Check out the secret technology. The question is, will that be banned for providing too much of an advantage to the McClaren team?
We’ll have to wait and see.
I am toying with the idea of visiting Pitcairn Island sometime as it would seem to be an interesting place to see. Also, having lived for five years on the Azores island of São Miguel I think that it would be interesting to compare and contrast the two places and their respective communities and cultures.
Have any of you readers ever visited Pitcairn? Or even better, do you live there?
In either case, it would be good to hear from you. Thanks!
