Jonesy’s Jukebox Returns

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Almost a year after his sudden shutdown on Indie 103.1, ex-Pistol turned radio DJ Steve Jones is tentatively back on air with Jonesy’s Jukebox shows pencilled in for every Monday-Friday at noon-1pm (LA time).

Listen in here – Jonesy’s Jukebox Live.

If this isn’t good news to start off the year, then I don’t know what is.

Video: Come Talk To Me

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

The video of the day for me today is Peter Gabriel’s ‘Come Talk To Me’.

It’s also going to be pretty much the theme tune of my life for this week, I suspect, but that’s a different story.

Play it loud. It’s the only way.

The Lights Dimmed A Little Last Night

Friday, June 26th, 2009

By coincidence, I was watching the news last night just as the story broke that Michael Jackson had died.

To begin with, like most people I guess, my reaction was mainly; “How? Why?”, and then…”Wow”.

I wasn’t really expecting to have much more of a reaction than that, I’m pretty realistic, and people die. That’s the way it goes.

Yet I did have much more of a reaction, and I was surprised at myself by just how deeply saddened I was at the news. So I thought about it some more, and only then I realised that, at forty-five years old, I have known of, listened to, and danced with Michael Jackson for forty years.

Forty years. Since I was just a mere five years old. No wonder I found his death such a genuinely sad event.

So RIP, MJ, and thankyou.
