Guerrilla Gardening A Patio

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

Last year, tomatoes, peppers, chillis, aubergines and a host of other things.

This year, flowers. Lots of them.

On the reverse of each of those packets in the photo there are instructions and supposed requirements for the depth the seeds should be planted at, the spaces between each and so on. (Click image for bigger).

Obviously, I have taken no notice whatsoever of those and simply put all of the seeds from all of the different packets together in one packet, then shaken it to mix them all together, and then sprinkled the resulting mixture into a big bunch of empty pots.

I figure that is how nature does it, and if it is good enough for nature – it’s good enough for me.

Will it work? I’ll have to wait and see.

Note: the above isn’t really guerilla gardening as you can’t really guerilla garden your own patio; this is real guerilla gardening.

Lifeblog: Behold! Chillies!

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Let there be chillies! He said.

And behold, for chillies did spring forth from the Earth.

And He looked down upon the chillies, and He saw that they were good.

…and He has still not summoned up the courage to try the evil looking little one in the middle.

Lifeblog: Juno And The Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

There are a few new cameraphone photos on the Lifeblog gallery today.

The first red hot chilli has appeared on one of the two plants of its type. It was soon eaten in a chilli con carne and, yea gads, those particular chillies really are hot.

I also have another four plants of a completely different type, and these are now sporting small upright chillies that are apparently even more lethal than the above. Photos of those to follow in a few days as soon as one of the chillies turns red.

Meanwhile, in other news, Juno continues to grow nicely. He has been with me for just two weeks today and has already changed from small puppy to big puppy. He is now significantly longer, taller, wider and, yes, sharper.

He has a great character and temperament and is hours of fun. He also has hours and hours of energy – so much so that a ‘calm down’ button would be good to have at times!

For those of you who were wondering; yes, he is indeed an authentic ‘hybrid’ dog. He is half pedigree Labrador and half pedigree Rhodesian Ridgeback. There is already a Juno section on the wiki dedicated to him and information about him, though there is little there just yet. I will add anything significant to it as time goes by.

A couple more low-res cameraphone photos for my Lifeblog Project just added to the Lifeblog Gallery;

Running hot, and growing hot.

The Great Rogi Patio Project Stage lll

Two months on, and not only is the Great Patio Project still alive

…but things have actually grown large enough to need their own homes.

A miracle.
