Flickr And…More Flickr…

Monday, March 8th, 2010

I’m getting to have a large collection of photo odds and ends laying around that don’t seem to fit anywhere, so I have rebooted my Flickr account.

I have also added a new page here to the site that displays the latest ten of my Flickr uploads.

Jonesy’s Jukebox Returns

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Almost a year after his sudden shutdown on Indie 103.1, ex-Pistol turned radio DJ Steve Jones is tentatively back on air with Jonesy’s Jukebox shows pencilled in for every Monday-Friday at noon-1pm (LA time).

Listen in here – Jonesy’s Jukebox Live.

If this isn’t good news to start off the year, then I don’t know what is.

Photo Sites: Minimodi & City Snaps

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

A couple of great photoblogs I have found recently:

The first is Minimodi from Gothenburg, Sweden. Varied subjects, consistently high quality. Click on each image to go to the following image.

The second is City Snaps from San Francisico. Mostly urban work, also of consistently high quality. A great example is this; Hanging Around, which is very nearly a perfect black and white shot, in my opinion.

There are far too many images between the two for me to possibly point out all of my personal favourites – so grab a coffee, sit back, and go see for yourself.

Want A Google Wave Invite?

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

Anyone out there want an invite to Google Wave?

Leave a comment on this post. The first six people get an invite.

After the first six invites I’ll close the comments, as the last time I did this was with GMail invites years ago and I accidentally ended up with a comments list that stretched from here to eternity and back again.

Useful: FlightStats Flight Tracking

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

This morning I was looking for a website to live track a flight my daughter was taking from London to Zurich.

air approach track into zurich

However, finding live tracking that covered EU air routes was not as easy as I imagined. The US is well covered, but the EU? Not so much.

After much searching around I eventually discovered FlightStats, which offers just what I was looking for; live mapping, flight status, arrival, departure and delay times, and even free email alerts.

All in all, a very useful tool for EU flight tracking. Recommended.
