CrashPlan Backup – Silent Data Corruption?

April 12th, 2010

If you are using CrashPlan as one of your backup solutions, you may want to fully read this blog post and then go on to fully read the related thread on CrashPlan’s user forums.

If you are using CrashPlan as your only backup solution, then you absolutely should follow the links above.

There are some serious questions being asked at CrashPlan by users of the service.

[Update: Note that as of 7th May 2010 this has never been satisfactorily resolved or explained. Crashplan are still evasive as to the possible cause of the failed restores, in my opinion. Due to this I personally have completely stopped using Crashplan on all of my systems. See the updated original blog post and the forum thread for the entire story.]

Jonesy’s Jukebox Returns

January 4th, 2010

Listen in here – Jonesy’s Jukebox Live.

If this isn’t good news to start off the year, then I don’t know what is.

Casting Reformation To The Winds

January 1st, 2010

A quote for today, the first of January 2010.

“Yesterday, everybody smoked his last cigar, took his last drink and swore his last oath. Today, we are a pious and exemplary community. Thirty days from now, we shall have cast our reformation to the winds and gone to cutting our ancient shortcomings considerably shorter than ever.”

– Mark Twain. 1863.

New Year’s Resolutions? Not for me.
